That’s why every client has an investment director appointed to his or her account.
Your Investment Director will get to know you, understand your needs and make sure you are kept up to date and your questions answered.
You’ll have the opportunity to meet him or her before committing yourself to us and, if you decide to proceed, you’ll go on to discuss your requirements in detail. Your Investment Director will then draw up your investment mandate and use it to select the risk- adjusted model closest to your risk profile. This provides an initial strategic asset allocation which they will fine tune to meet your exact requirements, selecting the particular funds and stocks to be held within each asset class in your portfolio.
Finally, your Investment Director will constantly ensure your portfolio remains appropriate for your investment profile, taking into account any changes in your tax position, investment restrictions, income requirements or appetite for risk.
Portfolio management
Your investment director will have day-to-day responsibility for all investment decisions taken on your portfolio. You will also be assigned an alternate portfolio manager to provide cover in your Investment Director’s absence - and to ensure that two investment professionals are familiar with your account.
Risk profile
We regard it as imperative that we do not exceed your appetite for risk. Your Investment Director is personally accountable for ensuring we remain within the parameters you set.
Investment restrictions
Many clients have limitations on the type or magnitude of investments permitted in their portfolio. The Investment Director will ensure these restrictions are never breached.
Tax status
Your Investment Director will be expected to be familiar with your tax position, particularly with regard to Capital Gains Tax, and any constraints this may impose on the management of your portfolio.
